Kids Haircuts For Boys Biography
When my kids were born, they both had full heads of hair. Long hair.
I knew it was only a matter of time before we would have to start getting hair cuts.
Most recently, that time came for my youngest son, at 15 months, and it was probably long overdue. ;)My goal with both of my boys was to wait until after their first birthday to get their hair cut.
His curls were cute but knowing that the majority of the time he was looking at the world through his hair, I knew I had to do something.
After recommendations from many of the moms in my neighborhood, we made our way to Cool Cuts 4 Kids.
I love that there are several locations in the DFW area and especially that we have a location just a couple of miles away from our house.
Walking in to the salon, I was very impressed with the set up. The waiting area is perfect for my train and lego loving boys. They were able to stay entertained while we waited for our turn.
Once it was our turn, I loved that we were able to pick our favorite distraction movie to watch during the cut. :)
The best part was knowing my little guy could climb in to a chair that looked just like he was driving a car. Older kids even have the option to sit in front of an Xbox or Playstation game while they have their hair cut.made sure he was well rested. We went right after his nap.
I did NOT want him to be sitting in the salon chair thinking of food, so I fed him right before.
We brought his pacifier to make sure he was soothed.
I picked a time to go when kids were in school and I knew we wouldn’t have to wait a long time. If you don’t have that option, I recommend going first thing in the morning, before they have a chance to get a wait. Saturdays are BUSY!
The sucker was used as a last resort to help him stay happy.
Be prepared to be creative. My son got frustrated with the process and I had to start singing his favorite song to hold his attention and keep him still.
With a little preparation and maybe even a little more luck, you too can take your child to have a successful haircut, just like we did.Whether your child is born with a full head of hair or is as bald as can be, there will come a time when he or she will be ready for that first haircut, an important milestone to mark off in your child’s baby book.
There’s no doubt many young children are afraid of getting their first haircut. After all, they’re draped in a cape, squirted with water and a stranger with scissors is talking to them.
If you have visions of your child kicking and screaming at the salon or barber shop, you can rest easy. Here are just some of the many places on Long Island that feature special incentives for kids of all ages, such as cars and trucks for kids to sit in, cartoons, movies, video games, toys and more. Most of them offer a little something extra for parents, too — a keepsake certificate with a lock of hair from their very first haircut.
